This ID19 engine came into the workshop in poor condition. Often repaired, but never consistently overhauled, the engine was leaking, especially in the head gasket area. Constantly decreasing performance made a complete overhaul necessary.

After documentation and disassembly, first the crankshaft was ground. As a result, the main and con rod bearings of the tripple bearing crankshaft were fitted with bearings in first oversize.

The worn camshaft was reground, the profile was not modified. Cylinder liners and pistons have been replaced and the liners protrusion has been set correctly.

The cylinder head was been equipped with hardened valve seats for operation with unleaded fuel. The only difference from the original condition was an additional mechanical chain tensioner. Finally, the engine was painted, filled with oil and tested.
