The successor to the Fiat 500 "Cinquecento" was almost as successful and popular as its predecessor and was produced under licence in Italy until 1987 and even in Poland until 2000. There it was affectionately called Maluch (Polish for "little one").
In Austria, Steyr-Puch built its own, more powerful engine into the otherwise finished vehicles; this increased the top speed to a dizzying 117 km/h.
In any case, the little one is a worthwhile object of restoration, especially since practically all parts are easily available.
